Re²Pli

Against the backdrop of the energy transition, German industry is also coming under increasing pressure to redesign production processes. Social change is taking place and the sustainability and variability of production is becoming increasingly important, also in order to achieve the climate targets set by the European Union for the year 2050. At the same time, the reduction of industry-related greenhouse gas emissions has been stagnating for years, which is partly due to uncertainties in the implementation of novel processes.
This is where the project "Regenerative energies for the efficient operation of a press hardening line" (Re²Pli) comes in. Based on induction heating, a sustainable and efficient production line for the manufacture of press-hardened components is to be set up and validated. In addition to production, the energy and economic aspects of a production line based on regenerative energies will be considered. In this way, uncertainties regarding the applicability of the process are to be eliminated and scenarios for implementation in a future energy and manufacturing concept are to be identified. By embedding the project in the experimental space New Mobility OWL, numerous interfaces to other research fields arise, enabling an implementation of the developed process in a real system environment.
