Center for International Economics
The Center for International Economics (CIE) in Paderborn stands for independent and well-founded high-quality economic research with policy relevance.
With its research topics, the scientists at the CIE cover a wide range of issues in economics and international economics, both at the macro and micro level. Policy- and society-relevant topics such as sustainable growth and development, demographic change, climate economics, health economics, competition theory and policy, European integration, multinational firms, mechanism design and game theory, education and human capital, and financial econometrics set the research agenda as overarching focus topics.
Research activities cover both, theory and empirical studies and focus on socially relevant questions based on the latest scientific methods, and with high quality research data.
